Part of a recent proposal, this is a visualisation of a Technics 1210 turntable on a simple riser over some randomly generated amp that looks like it’s come from the 1980s 🙂
This one is 18mm birch plywood sides with 24mm birch ply top. Also with foam isolation tape on the bottom (of the sides).
Of course I can make these risers any size you need and with optional vents.

So, I decided to make some risers for myself!
One was a printer riser – so that I could store the spare printer paper underneath without filling up a drawer. I decided to try adding the vents on the top left to right, only as a test. Personally I think they look better front-back, but of course nobody will see them anyway 🙂
This was I think, the first time I’ve not screwed the unit together. Instead I used Dominos. IT was possibly slightly quicker as I didn’t need to make the plugs and cut/sand them.
The other was a small one as laptop riser to keep my laptop at the same height off the desk as my other monitor riser.

I know that sounds strange, but i was asked to build some two sided speaker stands… The advantage being, if you’re short of space, your controller keyboard (if that’s what you’re using it for) can sit in between. The client actually had a DJ setup that was very tight for space.
Of course, the centre of gravity had to be taken into account, by making the 2 legs splay out slightly. I added cutouts to the legs to make them less “clunky”, and I think they turned out well.
