This was interesting. The client had a specific space in an alcove to fill, and wanted to maximise the use with a pair of 5U rack units. Between them he wanted a shelf that would sit above his mixer. A number of cutouts were required on the 5U rack units as well as the shelf to allow cabling.
I used the Yeti CNC to cutout the parts with the cutouts

This one finished in clear, water based satin varnish, with sturdy rubber feet.

A nice custom depth (400mm) 4U angled 19″ rack 18mm birch plywood with front vent.

This is a nice 4U birch ply rack, 400mm deep with an optional small vent at the front.
This unit is supplied with 4 rubber feet, and is a really sturdy unit.
I’ve considered making the “front panel” fold down like a shelf, as there’s quite a bit of space in there that would otherwise be wasted.
A nice 3U 19″ rack for an existing client. I always like it when a client returns, as it’s validation of what I’m doing and the service I offer.
This Premium 3U 19 inch rack is 200mm deep, 18mm Birch Plywood with sturdy rubber feet.
This was a client request for a unit that had mitred corners, rather than my normal “butt” joints that are screwed, glued and plugged. I have to say, I like it. I might make some more and add them to my shop as an option.
As usual, this is solid 18mm birch plywood & finished with a satin water based varnish – and includes sturdy rubber feet. 300mm deep. This will last a lifetime!

Just a concept a this stage, but I’m thinking of creating a budget range that are flatpacked and self-assembly.
So I’d need to find the right fixings, and probably limit it to 3U maximum. Obviously it would require some self-assembly (fixing the rack strips and assembling the carcass) , but I’m curious to know if this might work? & would anyone be interested?
